The World Becomes the Classroom.

School should get bigger as you get older.

At LMNL, it does.

At LMNL Lab School, students in grades 6–12 build strong academic foundations while progressively extending their learning into the world. Through interdisciplinary investigations, authentic challenges, and relationships with experts, they discover how ideas move from theory to practice.

Explore Across Disciplines.

Students investigate questions that rarely fit neatly into a single subject. Mathematics, science, humanities, technology, and the arts provide different ways to understand a problem and imagine what might be possible.

An HBCU Anchor. A World of Connections.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities have long been centers of intellectual achievement, scientific discovery, cultural expression, and social progress. This legacy provides an important foundation for LMNL Lab School. Our HBCU-centered approach, complemented by relationships with other universities, research institutions, and organizations, connects students to a wider world of ideas and opportunities.

Learn From the Community.

Neighborhoods, cultural institutions, businesses, and community organizations become places of inquiry. Students engage with local histories, learn from different generations, and explore the people, ideas, and experiences that shape the communities around them.

Work Alongside Experts.

Scientists, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, and other professionals bring their work into the learning experience. Students gain firsthand exposure to different fields, participate in investigations, and develop an understanding of how expertise grows through practice.

Create Work That Matters.

As students advance, their learning expands into research, fieldwork, internships, and increasingly independent projects. A senior capstone brings together their knowledge, interests, and ambitions in a substantial body of work.

Ready for What Comes Next.

Our graduates leave with more than academic preparation. They have experience asking difficult questions, working with others, navigating unfamiliar situations, and turning ideas into action. They’re prepared to continue learning, pursue their ambitions, and contribute to a changing world.
